Treatment of 56 Cases of Knee Osteoarthritis with Therapy of Fire-needle and Cupping

OBJECTIVE To observe the therapeutic effect of fire-needle therapy combined with cupping therapy on knee osteoarthritis.METHOD According to their consulting priority,the patients were randomly divided into fire-needle and cupping group(treatment group)with 56 cases given fire-needle therapy to prick the points on knee arthritis of both sides combined with cupping therapy,and filiform needling group(control group) with 42 cases treated with routine needling therapy.RESULT The cure and effective rate in treatment group was 76.78% after 1 course treatment and 92.86% after 2 courses while in control group 21.4% and 78.57% respectively.Therefore,the therapeutic effects difference in two groups had statistical significance(P0.01,P0.05).CONCLUSION The therapeutic effect of fire-needle therapy combined with cupping therapy on knee osteoarthritis is far better than normal needling therapy.
