Abstract

Objective To screen the most effective antioxidative fraction from the different solvent extracts and investigate its effect on antioxidation system in mice. Methods The T-AOC of different solvent extracts was determined and then most effective antioxidation fraction was obtained.40 rats were randomly divided into four groups and then were fed with the most effective extract for 4 weeks. The contents of MDA and CAT in brain tissue,T-AOC and the DPPH· radical scavenging activity in serum were determined, respectively. Results The content of MDA(4.4 g/kg group) in brain tissue was significantly higher than that of control group(P0.05).Compared with control group, the activity of CAT in the three groups were not increased significantly(P 0.05).Activity of T-AOC(4.4 and 8.8 g/kg groups) in serum was lower than that control group(P0.05).The DPPH radical scavenging activity(2.2 g/kg group) was increased significantly(P0.05). Conclusion This result can provide beneficial help for effective application of Cynomorium Songaricum Rupr.
