Abstract

German Functionalist Translation Theory liberates the translator from having to be loyal to the original text, which emphasizes the translated version's communication function in the target language culture and strengthens that the purpose of translation determines the translated version and the translation strategies.A tourism text has vocative function, informative function and expressive function. The paper, beginning with the purpose and the function of tourism translation, selects several translation texts and analyzes them and points out that the translator must take Chinese and foreign cultural differences and the readers' acceptability into account and adopt proper translating strategies in the practice of tourism translation.
