Abstract

Objective:To evaluate and analyze the accuracy of a new apex locator-Propex in molar working length measurement on acute periapical periodontitis.Methods:220 patients of acute periapical periodontitis(276 molars,512 root canals)were divide into 2 groups:Control group taken X-ray to observe and measuret root canal working length; While the study group with Propex. Results:The accuracy in molar working length measurement in the control and study groups was 77.5%,91.5% respectively. The accuracy of the two groups was statistically different. Conclusion:Propex is relatively accurate in molar working length measurement.
