Effect of Different Input Arteries on Lung Perfusion Imaging by Using CT Perfusion 3.0 Software

Abstract

Objective:To study the effect of different input arteries on lung CT perfusion imaging by using CT perfusion 3.0 software.Methods:Two healthy New Zealand rabbits were administered with 5ml contrast medium (300mg I/ml) via the ear veins by using a hyperbaric injector with the rate 0.1,0.3,0.5 and 0.8ml/s,respectively.The CT data were transferred to Advantage workstation and analyzed by using CT Perfusion 3.0 software.CT perfusion imaging was performed with three different programs.The parameters including blood flow (BF),blood volume (BV),mean transit time (MTT) and permeability surface (PS) were recorded.Results:Using CT perfusion 3.0 software,different injecting rate had no effect on BF and BV,but it could influence MTT and PS.In groups of liver tumor program or pulmonary artery as input artery,the BV and BF were different from those in body tumor program group.Conclusion:Using CT perfusion 3.0 software,input artery is an important factor of lung perfusion imaging results.
