Abstract

Objective To explore the spiral CT demonstrating features of advanced gastric carcinoma, and evaluate their value on clinical therapy. Methods 3-period enhanced scans by the spiral CT were performed on 42 cases of patients with advanced gastric carcinoma, who underwent identified diagnosis. Results The irregular thickening gastric walls intruded upon gastric cavity, like as masses. On arterial period enhanced CT,the thick gastric walls showed nonuniform intensified, and their indefinite layers. On portal-vessel period enhanced CT,tumors were intensified more lastingly, uniform and abroad in range than on arterial period.Regional invading: fat borders were demonstrated indefinite or disappeared.Metastasis: metastasis foci were found in pancreas,liver,post-peritoneum,lung and mediastinum. Conclusion 3-period enhanced CT for advanced gastric carcinoma possess the demonstrating features, which can effectively direct the establishment of clinical treating scheme.
