Abstract
Objective To analyse the chemical compositions of essential oil extracted from Hemistepta lyrata Bunge(HLB) and compare the components of essential oil extracted from its aerial parts and entire plants. Methods The components of essential oil extracted from the entire plants of HLB were analyzed by GC-MS and the relative content of each component was calculated by area normalization. Results 60 compounds were identified in the volatile oil from the entire plants of HLB,which accounted for 71.86% of the total essential oil. Most of the components were sesquiterpene, aliphatic acids and aromatics compounds, and the contents of sesquiterpene and aliphatic acids were relatively higher, which accounted for 17.79%,37.11% of the essential oil respectively. There were 25 different components between the aerial parts and entire plants of HLB,and most of them were sesquiterpene, which accounted for 6.32% of the essential oil. Conclusion There are some differences in the components of essential oil between the aerial parts and entire plants of HLB,and the aerial parts could not replace the entire plants in clinical application.
