Abstract
Objective To analyze the compositions of essential oil from the root bark, bark, nut shells and seeds of Discocleidion rufescens. Methods The essential oil was isolated by steam distillation and analyzed by GC-MS.Relative content of each component was determined by area normalization. Results 9 compounds, representing 88.85% of total oil was identified from root bark.11 compounds, representing 87.24% of total oil was identified from bark.11 compounds, representing 71.21% of total oil was identified from nut shells.11 compounds, representing 87.76% of total oil was identified from seeds.Their relative amount were respectively determined. Conclusion The essential oil from particular parts of this plant was isolated and analyzed for the first time.
