Abstract

Objective: To the effect of tuberculosis control in Xiaoshan and provide scientific basis for sustainabletuberculosis control. Methods: Retrospective analysis was conducted on the record of registration, diagnosis andtreatment of the tuberculosis patients from 2002 to 2005. Results: During the 4 years,4 718 patients had suspectedtuberculosis symptoms,1 918 cases were found with active tuberculosis, among which 907 cases were smearpositive. The registration rate of active tuberculosis increased from 33.02/ 100 000 in 2002 to 50.95/ 100 000 in 2005;that of the smear positive increased from 16.21/ 100 000 to 24.32/ 100 000; the cure rate of the new smear positivewas 93 %;the cure rate of retreated smear positive was 85.61 %. Conclusion:The efficiency of tuberculosiscontrol was remarkable in the last four years.
