Abstract

Objective:To investigate the relations between Helicobacter pylori (Hp) infection and liver cirrhosis. Methods:Clinical data of Hp infection were retrospectively reviewed and analyzed in 162 patients with liver cirrhosis who had received gastroendoscopy examination and Hp rapid urease test. Results:The difference between Hp infection and sex and age was not significant( P 0.05).The positive rate of Hp infection decreased as esophageal varices were more serious, liver function deteriorated and portal hypertensive gastropathy worsened( P 0.05~ P 0.01).The difference between Hp infection and whether complicating the occurrence of peptic ulcer or not was not significant( P 0.05).Conclusions:In patients with liver cirrhosis,Hp infection had no obvious correlation with aggravation of esophageal varices, deterioration of liver function, aggravation of portal hypertensive gastropathy or occurrence of peptic ulcer.Eradication of Hp in patients with liver cirrhosis is not necessary.
