Abstract
Objective To investigate Helicobacter Pylori (HP) infection in patients with liver - cirrhosis. Methods Hp infection was examined simultaneously in liver-cirrhosis group of 656 patients with liver - cirrhosis and control group of 600 cases with nonliver - cirrhosis by serological test, rapid urea test and histological stain. Results Hp positive rate was 70% in the cirrhosis group as compared to 71% in the None cirrhosis group (P 0. 1). The incidence of peptic ulcer, incidence and severity of portal hypertensive gastropathy (PHG) and the incidence of upper gastrointestinal hemorrhage in Hp positive patients were higher than those in Hp negative . Conclusion Hp infection in patients with liver - cirrhosis may be related to incidences of peptic ulcer, PHG and upper gastrointestinal hemorrhage.
