The utility of full-field digital mammography in the diagnosis of atypical breast carcinoma

Objective To study the utility of full-field digital mammography for diagnosing atypical breast carcinoma. Methods The authors collected the mammographic images of 36 cases with atypical breast carcinoma. All cases were examined with full-field digital mammography. Results Among the 36 cases, 8 cases showed nodules, 15 cases demonstrated small focus of increased density, 7 cases had architecture distortion, 4 cases demonstrated star sign, 2 cases showed ductal sign. Conclusion Full-field digital mammography has important value in finding atypical breast carcinoma.
