Abstract

Objective To evaluate the curative effect and security of heated lipiodol on hepatocarcinoma in VX2 rabbits models. Methods 30 rabbits with hepatocarcinoma were divided into two groups randomly,15 rabbits for each group.Group A was perfused with lipiodol under normal temperature(30℃) and group B under 60℃.Normal and heated lipiodol perfused via hepatic artery,10 days later the volume of tumor and the serum level of AST were observed, the survival period of VX2 rabbits was also observed. Results The tumor's growth rate(0.90±0.18) in group B was significantly different comparing with the growth rate of group A(1.28±0.27),(P0.05).The survival period in group A(42.0±2.0) had statistic difference in comparison with that in group B(32.5±3.0),(P0.05).The serum level of AST in group A was no statistic difference in comparison with group B(P0.05).Conclusion Heated lipiodol(60℃) could decrease the tumor' growth rate of the VX2 hepatocarcinoma and prolong the survival period obviously.
