Abstract
Objective To evaluate the anti-tumour effect of heated Lipiodol in hepatocarcinoma of rabbits. Methods VX_2 carcinoma cells were surgically implanted into the left liver lober of 30 male New Zealand white rabbits ,which were divided into 3 groups at random ,with 10 rabbits for each group. To inject physiological saline,Lipiodol(37℃),Lipiodol(60℃)in different groups via hepatic artery.1 week later the volume of tumour and the serum level of AST was observed. The survival period of VX_2 rabbits was also observed. Results In group of Lipiodol (60℃),the tumour’s growth rate (0.92±0.21)was significantly lower than that in control group(3.48±1.17),and Lipiodol(37℃) groups(1.29±0.26) respectively(P0.05).The survival period in Lipiodol(60℃)group(41.0±3.0)was significantly higher than that in the other treated group(31.5±3.0)(P0.05).The serum level of AST in Lipiodol(60℃) group was not higher than that in the other treated group(P0.05),but was significantly higher than that in the untreated control group after treated(P0.05).Conclusion Lipiodol(60℃)greatly decreases the tumour’s growth rate ,and prolongs the survival period. In brief ,it is a safety method and has stronger inhibitory effect than other groups.
