Abstract
Objective To summarize the experience of the surgical treatment for inverted papilloma in the nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses. Methods The clinical data of twenty patients with inverted papilloma in the nasal cavity and paranaal sinuses who received surgical treatment was analyzed retrospectively. Results 15 percent(3 cases) of these cases were canceration. All of those patients were treated by operation. The local recurrence occurred in 5 cases,3 of them was canceration and died in the period of following up(1 to 11 years). The total recurrence rate was 25%(5/20).Conclusions The medial maxillectomy and an en bloc ethmoidectomy is the best method, and Sinusectomy through the endoscopic sinus can be used in patients with limited lesions.
