EVALUATION OF HALOXYLON AMMODENDRON GROWING CHARACTERISTICS IN KUBUQI DESERT

The Haloxylon ammodendron growing characters under ground and above ground indicated that Haloxylon ammodendron grows fast when it is a seedling,two years old Haloxylon ammodendron average highness, and terra stem growing rate are 145.93% and 165.065% compared with one year old,three years old compared with two year old one are 168.75% and 335.77%. Haloxylon ammodendron's root system has clear plasticity,especially the two, three and four years old ones,down to 100cm nearly,and with the deepth of the earth, the vale shows the trend of decreasing. Two, three and four year-Haloxylon ammodendron system of side root show the same trend of changing. The two year Haloxylon ammodendron' side root range from 0cm~90cm, mainly from 60cm~90cm. Three and four year Haloxylon ammodendron side roots mainly range on 0cm~30cm and 90cm~120cm, especially 90-120 cm, thus, level roots distribute in the range of 120cm away from the surface of the earth.
