Abstract
Objective To investigate the effect and value of pterygium excision combined with limbal stem cell autografting in recrudescent pterygium treatment. Methods 116 patients with pterygium in 132 eyes were recruited, and were randomized into pterygium excision combined with limbal stem cell autografting group(group A,59 cases 67eyes) and simply pterygium excision plus conjunctival flap transplantation group(group B,57 cases,65 eyes),compare the curative effect of two groups. Results Cure rate of pterygium excision combined with limbal stem cell autografting group(group A) was significantly higher than that of conjunctival flap transplantation group(group B).There was a statistical significant difference between two groups(p0.05). Conclusion Pterygium excision combined with limbal stem cell autografting in pterygium treatment shows a more reliable effect and could be considered applied widely in future treatment.
