Abstract
The charge-transfer reaction between alizarin red as an π-electron acceptors and cefuroxime sodium as an electron donors has been studied by UV-Vis spectrophotometry. The results indicated that the stable complex can be quickly formed based on the charge-transfer reaction between cefuroxime sodium with alizarin red in neutral aqueous solution at room temperature. The complex has strong absorbance at 520 nm.The molar absorptivity of the complex is 1.13×104L·mol-1·cm-1 and the linear range is 7.52×10-6~6.66×10-4 mol·L-1.The linear equation is A=0.204c(×10-4mol·L-1)+0.222.r=0.9992.RSD is1.2%(n=8).This method is simple, rapid, accurate and sensitive.
