Study on the Correlation of Serum Adiponectin and Gestational Diabetes Mellitus in Pregnant Women

Objective :To investigate serum concentration of adiponectin(ADP) and correlation with insulin resistance in pregnant women with gestational diabetes mellitus(GDM) to provide the clinical evidence that ADP was one of the medicine of GDM.Methods:Among pregnant women at 28～32 weeks of pregnancy,three groups were divided.The first group was 40 cases of normal glucose tolerance(NGT),the second group was 32 cases of impaired glucose tolerance(GIGT),the third group was 38 cases of GDM.ELISA technique was employed to determine the serum ADP concentration,at the same time the fasting blood glucose,insulin concentration were detected.Insulin resistance index was calculated by HOMA,and the dependability of index was analyzed.Results:In the NGT,GIGT and GDM groups,the concentrations of serum ADP were(8.52±1.69)mg/L,(5.88±2.97)mg/L,(4.37±2.43) mg/L,respectively,and difference were significantly(P0.01).The concentrations of serum ADP were correlated negatively with insulin resistance index,BMI,fasting blood glucose and insulin(P0.01).Conclusion:ADP is one of the protection factors of GDM,and is a sensitizer of insulin.
