Expression and significance of VEGF in cervical intraepithelial neoplasia and cervical carcinoma

Abstract

Objective:To investigate expression and significance of Vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) in cervical intraepithelial neoplasia(CIN) and cervical carcinoma.Methods: VEGF proteins of 22 cases normal cervical tissue,24 cases CIN and 44 cases cervical carcinoma were detected by immunohistochemistry SP method.Results: The positive rate of VEGF protein expression in normal cervical tissues,CIN and cervical carcinoma were respectively 45.45%,83.33%,95.45%.There was significant difference among three groups(P〈0.01).Significant differences was show between normal cervical and CIN,CIN and cervial carcinoma(P〈0.01).Conclusion: The results indicated that the expression of VEGF protein was as sociated with the carcinogenesis of cervical cancer.It is suggested that VEGF expression may be taken as an effective immunohistochemical makers for early detection.
