Analysis of the tyrosine kinase B expression in transitional cell carcinoma of bladder tissues

Objective:To study the expression of tyrosine kinase B(TrkB) and to investigate its relationship with clinical,pathological implications and the parameters of prognosis in transitional cell carcinoma of bladder(TCCB).Methods:Formalin-fixed,paraffin-embedded tissue sections from 60 cases of TCCB and 16 cases of normal bladder were analyzed retrospectively with immunohistochemistry(S-P method).The results were analyzed with the tumor stage,grade and clinical parameters of prognosis.The patients were followed up for 6-36 months to evaluate the prognosis.Results:Among 60 cases of TCCB,the expressions of TCCB-positive rate of TrkB were higher than that of normal bladder mucous membrane(P 0.05).The expressions of TCCB-positive rate of TrkB in the poorly differentiated and invasive TCCB were significantly higher than the rate of the well differentiated and superficial TCCB.The expressions of TCCB-positive rate of TrkB in the recurred cases were much higher than the expressions of the primary cases(P 0.05).Conclusion:TrkB may play an essential role in TCCB and serve as a biomarker for the prognosis of TCCB.
