Changes of PTEN encoding product in gastric polyp

Objective:To investigate the changes of tumor suppressor gene PTEN encoding product in gastric adenocarcinoma and gastric polyp.Methods:Samples of gastric adenocarcinoma and gastric polyp were collected from endoscopy center and oncology surgery department of China Medical University.The gastric polyp group was divided into inflammatory polyp,proliferative polyp and adenomatous polyp,60 cases in each group.PTEN protein expression was detected by S-P immunohistochemistry.Results:The protein expression of PTEN in normal gastric mucosa was 100%,in inflammatory polyp,proliferative polyp and adenomatous polyp,the protein expression of PTEN was 98.3%,91.6%,78.3% respectively.For gastric adenocarcinoma,PTEN protein expression was 61.6%.There was statistically difference between inflammatory polyp,proliferative polyp and adenomatous polyp(P0.05),also,there was statistically difference between gastric adenocarcinoma and adenomatous polyp(P0.05).Conclusion:PTEN protein was downregulated in inflammatory polyp,proliferative polyp,adenomatous polyp and gastric adenocarcinoma.
