Abstract
Objective To establish the normal values of cephalometry of children with normal occlusion and to study the development characteristic of cranium, jaw, and face. Methods The cephalometric radiographs of 104 teenagers with normal occlusion were analyzed and the normal values were calculated. The difference of maxillofacial region on different genders was analyzed. Results The normal values measured with Coben, quadrilateral, and Ricketts analysis methods were established. Conclusion Although the cranium, jaw, and face have similar development characteristic in both genders, there still exists some difference. The size is remarkably different between both genders. To understand the development characteristic of cranium, jaw, and face in population with normal occlusion is contributed to clinical diagnosis and treatment planning.
