On Contemporary Significance of Feng Zhi's Early Narrative Poetry

Feng Zhi, one of the outstanding poets in mod ern Chinese literaturehistory, w as famous for his lyrical poems and sonnets as well as philosophy of the poetry. This paper aims to analyze the contemporary significance of The recorde r player, The front of the temple gate and another two narrative poems from the structu re of narration, style and meditation on life. The author points out that compr ehending Feng Zhi's early narrative poetry is the key of grasping how Chinese na rrative poems has transformed from the classical to the modern.
