Abstract

Objective:To study the incidence of gestational diabetes mellitus(GDM) in women and children's health hospital nanshan area in shenzhen and the relationship between blood glucose level and pregnancy outcome. Methods:Clinical data of pregnant women who had antenatal care and delivered in women and children's health hospital nanshan area in shenzhen from Jan 2004 to Jun 2005 were analyzed in order to prospectively study the incidence of GDM.All of them underwent screening of blood glucose treatment in gestational week 24~28.Among them, the women with GDM were divided into two groups(groupA,B) according to the glucose level. The maternal and fetal outcomes of the two groups were compared. Results:The rate of pregnant outcomes was 2.64 %.2 cases of fetal death in group B,but no case of fetal death in group A(P=0.024).The rate of pregnancy induced hypertension and premature labor and preeclampsia in group B were significantly higher than those in group A..The rate of new born malformation and new born erythrocytosis and low birth weight infant in group B were significantly higher than those in group A.Conclusion:Maternal blood glucose with ideal control throughout pregnancy may reduce the maternal complications in GDM.
