Advances in Research on Sugar Metabolism in Citrus Fruit

Abstract

Based on the research on sugar metabolism in citrus fruit, enzymes related to sucrose transportation and sucrose synthesis and even enzyme genes related to sucrose metabolism are summarized. At last, the further research trend is put forward and the direct effects of those enzyme genes on sugar accumulation are studied by the method of molecular biology and reverse genetics.
