Abstract
The effects of extraction of carotenoid from silkworm excrement with common solvent and the ultrasonic were studied in this paper. The results from the orthogonal experiment show that the best extraction condition for the ultrasonic are as the following: the saponification temperature 55 ℃, the extraction solvent petroleum ether and acetone (4∶1, v/v), the ratio of the solid to liquid 1∶15, ultrasonic power 400 W, the time of ultrasonic ectracting twice, every time of ultrasonic extracting 5 minutes. Under the above optimal conditions, the yield of carotenoid is 1.782 mg/g.
