Abstract
Objective To explore the present situation of depression and its influencing factors among hospitalized patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD). Methods A questionnaire survey was conducted among hospitalized patients with COPD with Zung Self-rating Depression Scale. χ2test and binary logistic regression analysis were used to explore the influencing factors of depression among the patients. Results There were 76 patients suffering depression among 164 COPD patients, which took a proportion of 46.3%, and depression score was higher than that of the Chinese norm(P0.001). Binary logistic regression analysis showed that state of illness, course of illness, education level, self-evaluated economic pressure and self-evaluated health status significantly affected the prevalence of depression among COPD patients(P0.05). Conclusion The depression of COPD patients remains severe, and state of illness, course of illness, education level, economic pressure and self-evaluated health status are the main influencing factors of depression among the patients.
