Abstract

OBJECTIVE To compare the efficacy of diltiazem and nicardipine in the treatment of the acute aortic dissection, and their adverse reaction.METHODS 64 patients with acute aortic dissection were divided into nicardipine group(30 cases) and diltiazem group(34 cases).Chest pain, blood pressure, heart rate and adverse reaction were observed at each time point after treatment.RESULTS The chest pain remission time and rate in diltiazem group were better than those of nicardipine group.Blood pressure began to decrease 30 min after treatment in both groups, the blood level of nicardipine group was lower than that of diltiazem group.Diltiazem significantly decreased heart rate, while nicardipine increased heart rate slightly. There was no significant diffence in adverse reaction in both groups.CONCLUSION Diltiazem and nicardipine have the effect on acute aortic dissection.Diltiazem is more effective than nicardipine in the relief of pain and heart rate control.
