Abstract

Objective To find the best method of cleaning mouth cavity before and after palatoplasty, prevent infection and promote wound healing. Methods 80 patients in need of palatoplasty were randomly divided into four groups: NO.1 Experiment Group, NO.2 Experiment Group, NO.3 Experirnent Group and the control group. Each having 20 patients.3% hydrogen dioxidine solution and 0.1% chlorhexidine solution gargle; 0.1% chlor hexidine solution gargle; normal saline gargle and routine oral nursing were given to them respectively. Results The four methods could lower oral bacterial colony counting remarkably and there was a significant difference (P0.001) before and after nursing. Conclusion The oral pathogen can be killed and eliminated with 0.1% chlorhexidine solution gargle, which can not only clean mouth cavity and prevent infection but also use man power and material resources and save time so that this mathod is satisfactory.
