Abstract

We hold the idea that the two extremes of the invisibility of translator's subjectivity and the over-visibility of translator's subjectivity in translation should be overcome so as to ensure translating under a rational condition. The shift of translator's subjectivity study into that of inter-subjectivity study in translation is an effective way to avoid the two extremes. The theory of communicative behavior provides theoretical basis and ontological guide for the study of inter-subjectivity in translation.Inter-subjectivity in translation well explains the role of translator's subjectivity and the effectiveness of the source text and the speech acts of its writer, and therefore ensures the effectiveness of the target text and the speech acts of the translator.
