Abstract

Objective:To evaluate the value of magnetic resonance urography in the diagnosis of primary ureteral carcinoma. Methods:Comparation of the accuracy of diagosis of MRU with that of ultrasonography、urography(KUB+IVU)、retrograde ureteropyelography and CT scan in diagnosis of ureteral carcinoma were carried out. The original pre-operative diagnostic reports of various imaging facilities were analyzed on account of the results of operation and pathology. Results:MRU could clearly shew the obstructive location of ureter. With regard to the ureteral carcinoma, accuracy of the location diagnosis was 100% and diagnostic rate of the obstructive etiology was 100%. MRU was superior to ultrasonography、KUB+IVU、retrograde ureteropyelography and CT scan used in this study. Conclusions:MRU has an important value in the diagnosis of primary ureteral carcinoma.
