Abstract

The dynamic thermal stabilizing effect of magnesium oxide/zinc oxide mixture on PVC was studied with HAAKE Rheometer. The results sh owed that when the mass ratio of magnesium oxide/zinc oxide was 2/3, aided w ith EBSO, calcium stearate, phosphite ester and organic stabilizer, a better sta bilizing effect on PVC was exhibited than a commercial calcium/zinc stabilizer, which can be compared with the lead stabilizing system. The mechanical propertie s of PVC containing the new stabilizing system were similar to those using the c ommercial calcium/zinc stabilizers.
