The Present Situation and its Route to College English Teachers' Professional Development

The specialization of university teachers is a must in the development of higher education.The questionnaire carried out by the author shows that there are some problems in the professional development of English teachers at three-year colleges in Henan province.Specialization is a significant route to qualified teachers.English teachers should be aware of importance and the goal of their professional development.They are required of professional virtues,an ability of lifelong learning and self-response to their teaching.It is a basic demand of them to have teaching skills and knowledge relative to their profession.And universities should take measures to have a qualified teaching faculty,to create learning organization for them and at the same time to improve facilities of English teaching based on the Internet.
