Observation on ALA-PDT Combined with Cryotherapy in the Treatment of Larger Condyloma Acuminatum

Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of topical 5-aminolevulinic acid photodynamic therapy combined with cryotherapy in the treatment of larger condyloma acuminatum.Methods The 95 cases of larger condyloma patients were randomly divided into 3 groups.The treatment group (33 cases) were treated with ALA-PDT combine cryotherapy,ALA-PDT group (31 cases)used ALA-PDT treatment,freezing group (31 cases) used liquid nitrogen freezing method only.Referral once a week in 4 weeks.The recurrence cases and the adverse reactions of all patients were observed on the forth,the eighth and the twelveth weeks after treatment.Results The wart clearance rates in the treatment group,ALA-PDT group and frozen group were 100%,83.87% and 100%.Among the treatment group(90.91%) and ALA-PDT group(58.06%),frozen group(51.61%),the cure rates had relatively significant difference(P0.05).Conclusion ALA-PDT combined with cryotherapy in treatment of larger condyloma has high cure rate,low relapse rate,and better security.
