Abstract

Objective:To explore the effect of gonadotropin releasing hormone antagonist(GnRH-anta)in in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer(IVF-ET).Methods:391 cycles of IVF-ET in Center of Reproductive Medicine from January 2006 to October 2007 were divided into antagonist group(127 cycles)and control group(264 cycles treated with agonist long protocol). The age, effect of ovulation induction, clinical pregnancy rate and complications in the two groups were compared. Results:There was no significant difference in average age, fertilization rate, clinical pregnancy rate, implantation rate, multiple pregnancy rate, ectopic pregnancy rate and early abortion rate between the two groups(P0.05).The duration of gonadotropin(day),total dose of gonadotropin, number of retrieved oocytes, number of 2PN embryos, number of frozen embryos in antagonist group were significantly smaller than those in control group(P0.01).Conclusion:In cycles of IVF-ET,GnRH-anta is a safe, effective and convenient protocol and produces a new choice for controlled ovarian hyperstimulation.
