Abstract
Objective:To investigate the effect of paclitaxel on fibroblast proliferation and type Ⅰ and type Ⅲ procollagen mRNA expression in human hypertrophic scar. Methods: Proliferation and type Ⅰ and type Ⅲ procollagen mRNA expression in cultured fibroblasts from human hypertrophic scar were determined by MTT method and RT PCR,respectively. Results: Paclitaxel treatment resulted in significant inhibition of proliferation and type Ⅰ and type Ⅲ procollagen mRNA expression in cultured fibroblasts in a dose dependent manner. Conclusion: Paclitaxel could reduce the hypertrophic scarring via inhibiting fibroblast proliferation and type Ⅰ and type Ⅲ procollagen mRNA expression.
