A Study of the Ecological Thought in Yeats’Poetry

Love and the fate of the Irish people are the two major concerns of Yeats’ poetry.Owing to this positive and serious life attitude,Yeats developed a strong responsibility for the nature as well as the human world,and cherished deep love and admiration for nature.An analysis of Yeats’ poetry from the ecological angle reveals that Yeats’ ecological thought is embodied in his love for nature,his criticism of the anthropocentrism,as well as his pursuit of the ecological balance between human beings.Nowadays,with the increasing awareness of people’s ecological sense,a study of the ecological thought in Yeats’ poetry has great significance in theory as well as in reality.
