Abstract
Objective To understand the dietary habits and snacking status among nursing students in a medical college so as to provide the evidence for taking effective intervention measures.Methods A total of 1 054 nursing students in a medical college were selected and surveyed by questionnaires to get the data of their dietary status.Results About 92.5% of the students had breakfast frequently,but only 6.7% of them had good quality breakfast.Totally 10.2% of the students had a good quality lunch and 9.9% of them had a good quality dinner.The snack consumption rate of the nursing students was 38.9%.Their most favorite snack was fruits,and most favorite drink was packaged water.Conclusions The dietary structure of the nursing students is simple and the dietary quality is poor.Most of nursing students had snack,but the snacking behavior of the students is not reasonable enough.It is important to reinforce health education among college students about dietary nutrition so as to train them to build a scientific dietary habit.
