Abstract
Objective To analyze the characteristics of school infectious disease emergencies in Ningxia from 2006 to 2012,and to provide a scientific basis for prevention and control strategies. Methods Descriptive epidemiology method was used to analyze public health emergencies of infectious disease in school in Ningxia,2006-2012. Results Totally 295 school infectious disease emergencies were reported in Ningxia,which accounted for 97.36% of all school public health emergencies in this area. The attack rate was 2.92%. Reported emergencies comprised mainly respiratory infectious diseases. Most events occurred from March to June or September to December. Most public health emergencies occurred in primary schools,especially township primary schools. About 40% emergency cases were reported timely,mostly from medical institutions( 41. 36%),followed by the school reports( 32.20%). Conclusion Schools are the common places where public health emergencies of infectious diseases occurred. Rural schools in Ningxia should pay more attention to infectious disease emergency prevention and control.
