Abstract
Acid-leaching and electrowinning process on a manganese carbonate ore from Chongqing was studied. Effects of ore particle size, acid / ore ratio, leaching temperature and time on leaching rate of manganese were investigated and leaching-electrowinning cycle test was conducted. Results showed that under an optimum leaching condition as: particle size of 90% of-0. 15mm,acid/ore ratio of 0. 6,leaching temperature of 60 ℃,L/S ratio of8∶ 1,and leaching time of 4h,leaching rate of manganese could reach 91. 89%,and a cathode manganese product with Mn≥99. 8% could be steadily obtained. Leaching rate of manganese was around 90% when anolyte recycled to leaching circuit.
