Reliability and Validity of Adaptive Skill Rating Scale for School-aged Children

Objective: To exaimine the reliability and validity of the Adaptive skill rating scale for school-aged children. Methods: 1420 subjects aged from 6 to 16.5 years old were sampled. The split-half reliability, Cronbach ɑ, scorer reliability and test-retest reliability were used to estimate reliability. The construct validity and criterion-related validity were also examined in this study. Results: ①The test-retest stability coefficients ranged from 0.81 to 0.97; the split-half coefficients, Cronbach ɑ,coefficients and scorer coefficients for the subtest scores ranged from 0.76 to 0.89; 0.83 to 0.96 and 0.89 to 0.94 respectively; ②The confirmatory factor analysis on both male, female and full sample showed that they were good-fit for the scale; ③The average correlation between ASRSCC and China Revised Wechlser Intelligence Scale for Children (C-WISC) and term examination were mild to moderate(0.27-0.66 and 0.34). Conclusion: The reliability and validity of ASRSCC were verified that they all meet the requirements of psychometrics.
