Application effect of metformin in stimulating ovulation treatment of polycystic ovary syndrome

Objective To explore the application effect of metformin in stimulating ovulation treatment of polycystic ovary syndrome. Methods 56 cases with polycystic ovary syndrome from January 2012 to January 2014 in our hospital were selected and randomly divided into control group and observation group,28 cases in each group.The control group were treated with intramuscular injection of gonadotropin,the observation group were treated with metformin.The level of LH,INS,FSH,T,LH/FSH and ovulation of two groups before and after treatment was compared respectively. Results The ovulation rate of observation group was 92.86% and the pregnancy rate of observation group was 75.00%,the ovulation rate of the control group was 67.86% and the pregnancy rate of observation group was 32.14%,there was significant difference(P0.05).In addition,the level of LH,INS,FSH,T,LH/FSH of the observation group after treatment was significantly better than that before treatment and control group respectively,with statistical difference(P0.05). Conclusion Metformin can significantly reduce the fasting insulin level,improve the abnormal symptoms of sex hormone,promote ovulation and pregnancy recovery,the rate of adverse reaction is low,and safety is high,which is worthy of further application in the treatment of polycystic ovary syndrome.
