Abstract

Objective:To study the changes of the vaginal pH and the vaginal lactobacilli content as well as their interrelationship during pregnancy. Methods:Thirty women were enrolled respectively in the first trimester, second trimester, third trimester and non-pregnanct group.Gram-stain and colony counts were used to explore the changing of Lactobacillus content during pregnancy. The vaginal pH was detected by the accurate pH strip.Results:①There was no significant changes among the vaginal Lactobacillus strains during pregnancy.②There was statistically significance of vaginal pH among the first trimester, second trimester and third trimester group.(P0.05).The vaginal pH between the non-pregnanct group and the other three groups had statistically significance(P0.05).③The vaginal lactobacilli content between the non-pregnanct group and the other three groups had statistically significance(P0.05).The vaginal lactobacilli content had no statistically significance between the first trimester group and the second trimester group(P0.05);The vaginal lactobacilli content had statistically significance between the third trimester group and the first or second trimester group seperately(P0.05).④ There was negative correlation between vaginal pH and vaginal lactobacilli content during pregnancy.(P0.05).Conclusions:There is no significant changes among the vaginal Lactobacillus strains during pregnancy. The more gestational weeks, the higher the vaginal pH,the less the vaginal lactobacilli content. There is negative correlation between vaginal pH and vaginal lactobacilli content during pregnancy.
