Abstract

Objective To observe the curative effect of N-acetylcysteine(NAC) in the treatment of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD).Methods 80 patients with COPD were randomly divided into the treatment group and the control group. Both groups were treated with the conventional therapy, and the treatment group was added with NAC adjuvant therapy. The pulmonary functions and the levels of hs-CRP,PaO2 and PaCO2 were measured before and after the treatment between the two groups. Results The curative effect was obviously better in the treatment group than in the control group. The total efficiency was 94.0% and 76.67% respectively in the treatment group and in the control group with statistical significance(P0.05).The improvement of pulmonary functions was more pronounced in the treatment group than in the control group. Conclusion NAC can significantly decrease the concentration of hs-CRP,and improve the pulmonary functions and the levels of PaO2,and PaCO2 in the treatment of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, which is worthy of widely clinical application.
