Abstract

OBJECTIVE To investigate the effect for high-dose omeprazole in elderly patients with gastric ulcer hemorrhage METHODS 98 elderly patients with gastric ulcer hemorrhage were divided into the experimental group and the control group. The experimental group was treated with high-dose omeprazole, and the control group was taken with conventional-dose omeprazole treatment.RESULTS There were three cases of bleeding in 3 days, while the control group was with 9 cases. There was a big difference between the two groups(P﹤0.05).The re-bleeding situations in the 3 days were taken for comparison. The experimental group had no patient. The control group had 4 cases. There was a difference in the two groups(P﹤0.05).The clinical efficiency of patients in the two groups were compared,95.83% in the experimental group was significantly higher than in the control group(78%)(P﹤0.05).CONCLUSION The use of high-dose omeprazole treatment in elderly gastric ulcer hemorrhage can improve clinical outcomes and reduce the risk of further bleeding.
