Abstract

Objective To evaluate the anesthesia effect of aerosolized lidocaine and oxygen during pediatric bronchoscopy.Methods 120 children undergoing bronchoscopy were divided into two groups in equal number according to the sequence of registration.Atomization inhalation of 2% lidocaine and oxygen(atomization group) was used for anesthesia and in other group 2% lidocaine was sprayed locally for local anesthesia(spraying group).The anesthesia effect,heart rate,respiration and blood oxygen saturation were observed and compared between the groups.Results In the atomization group,the dosage of lidocaine was smaller than that in the spraying group but the effect of anesthesia was better,with significant difference between them.There were no differences in heart rate,respiration and blood oxygen saturation between the groups(P0.05).Conclusion Atomization inhalation of 2% lidocaine and oxygen,as an effective and safe anesthesia approach,can be recommended as the primary choice for anesthesia of infants undergoing bronchoscopy.
