Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the value of the application for detection of C-reactive protein combined with white blood cells(WBC)in children with respiratory tract infection.METHODS 106 cases of pediatric respiratory infection and 51 cases of healthy children in the hospital pediatric department were collected.The CRP and WBC levels measured before treatment.After symptomatic treatment,the conditions were cured.The levels of CRP and WBC were measured again.RESULTS The CRP and WBC in pediatric respiratory bacterial infection group were(90.5 ± 20.7)ng/ml,(9.0 ± 1.46)× 109/L,significantly higher than the viral infection group and the control group(P﹤0.05).There was no significant difference for infection group compared with the control group(P﹥0.05).After treatment,the CRP rapidly decreased to 8.2 ± 3.1 ng/ml in the bacterial infection group.CONCLUSION The CRP and WBC detection in diagnosis and treatment has a guiding significance for respiratory tract infections.
