Therapeutic Observation on the Treatment of Cervical Spondylosis of Nerve Root Type Majorly by Needling Houxi(SJ 3)

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of treating cervical spondylosis of nerve root type by majorly needling Houxi(SI 3).Method Sixty patients with cervical spondylosis of nerve root type were randomized into a treatment group and a control group,30 in each group.The treatment group was intervened by needling Houxi(SI 3) plus ordinary acupuncture treatment, while the control group was by ordinary acupuncture.Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) score before and after treatment and clinical efficacy were compared between the two groups.Result In comparing VAS score,both groups had significant changes after treatment(P0.05).After treatment,the differences in VAS score between the two groups were statistically marked(P0.05).The total effective rate was 93.3%in the treatment group versus 90.0%in the control group,and the differences was statistically significant(P0.05).Conclusion It is effective to treat cervical spondylosis of nerve root type by adopting needling Houxi(SI 3) as the major treatment.
