Abstract
Abstrcat Micromorphological characters of leaf epidermis of 18 species and 1 variation of Eurya in Fujian were examined by light microscope . The stomatal style ,stomatal size and stomatal density were measured and counted under LM. It was shown that the stomatal apparatuses of the 19 species were orbicular or elliptic and only present in abaxial surface. The stomatal apparatuses were often anomocytic, but sometimes anisocytic. The leaf epidermal cell were usually irregular or irregularly polygonal in shape. The patterns of anticlinal walls were slightly straight, sinuolate, sinuous or sinuate. The characters between 19 species of Eurya such as stomatal density, stomatal size are different to a large degree. The features between species such as shape and pattern of anticlinal walls of epidermis cells are largely different. These different micromorphological characters of leaf epidermis are useful to identifying some group of Eurya.
